No-code is a high-interest loan

No-code is a high-interest loan.

It feels like free money at the start. But the compounding debt kills you later.

You launched in 4 weeks. You felt smart. Good. You validated the idea.

But now? The bill is due.

You are paying a 50% tax on every new feature. Complexity that takes 2 hours in code takes 2 days in Lovable. Your "backend" is a fragile web of Relay workflows, barely hanging on.

The reality: Your MVP is just glue.

One API change from a vendor. One pricing hike. One platform outage. Revenue drops to zero. You don't own the machine. You just rent it.

The pivot:

Most founders panic here. They halt everything to "rebuild properly" from scratch.

Do not do this. That is a $100K mistake.

You don't need a full rewrite. You need a hybrid strategy.

Own the core. Rent the edge.

  1. Identify the 10% of logic that prints money (your secret sauce)
  2. Code that 10% properly. Own it. Host it. Control it.
  3. Leave the other 90% (auth, payments, email) on the no-code tools

Stop building your core IP on rented land. But don't waste code on the commodity stuff.
