Any odd remote flex to share? 😇

In a Zoom meeting: "We are now going into breakout rooms."
Me:
The stronger your position on something, the more forces will oppose you.
My best advice: do not care. Ignore the hate. You will never please 100% of people anyway.
Delegate to others what don't fit your "impactful work" criteria. Seek freelancers and contractors for work you find unchallenging or outside the abilities you want people to develop in your organization.
Learn where your most productive hours are and block them off your calendar. Make meetings with yourself to keep your priorities straight.
Whoever invented emojis massively crushed humanity's productivity. We now must struggle when choosing the right one every time we post something.
3 elements people need to be fulfilled at work:
I was talking about shifting our mindset from "estimates" into "forecasts" in software.
Pretending absurd levels of certainty is not required to maintain your credibility. Not only is this false, but it also threatens your reputation when your confident predictions are wrong.
Consistency gives you greater chances of being the last person standing—this is the one who wins.
Make sure to master this before everything else.
Identify what value means for you, or you may lead everyone in the wrong direction.
Number of tasks done is not value. Number of features shipped is not value. Number of commits pushed is not value. Delivering in time is not value.
These are vanity metrics taken in isolation.
Switching to remote without changing how you operate makes everything worse.
Async-first work must come with it, or you already start with a broken system.
Remote is not the issue. The issue is that you still live between two worlds.
What makes you hesitate?
Hey, there!
I see I have new followers. 🤩
A summary of what I do:
You don't want to hear this, but constraining yourself is the best way to get things done.
If you never set limits on your tasks, you will unconsciously make sure to fill all the time you have to complete them.
Best case, you waste time. Worst case, you never ship.
Revenue-per-employee defines how outstanding a company is.
It is an important ratio that measures how much each employee generates for the company.
To calculate it, divide the total revenue by the current number of employees.
This is why I wake up in the morning, knowing my contributions positively impact my audience, teams, and business.
Receiving testimonials like this keeps you on the right track despite the hard days.
I am very fortunate to be surrounded by such great minds.
Companies with a strong sense of community outperform their competition.
A lack of it leads to loneliness which reduces job satisfaction and opportunities for promotions and dramatically increases turnover.
I swear, whatever I do, sometimes the wrong letter lands on a single word, changing the whole meaning of the sentence.
Guess which one here.
Wake me up when Twitter has an edit button.
Are we seriously still asking these questions? I thought doing the same thing multiple times and expecting different results was the definition of craziness.
Let's normalize managers who bring their own backroom staff like a soccer coach when starting a new role. That would be a cutting-edge model.
Finally, they made it. You can now directly link action items from Google Docs with Google Tasks. 🤌
