Leadership Isn't About Being Liked: Why Critics Are Proof You're Leading

You cannot expose yourself and expect to escape critics.

I had to make peace with that in recent years. Many people saw me as a rival, a risk for their position, or a danger for their beloved status quo.

Reality check: Leadership isn't about being liked.
It's about stepping first. Taming the path. Tanking the hits others won't.

There's no way around it:

  • People will disagree with me regardless of what I do
  • Some will hate me regardless of how I behave
  • Difficult conversations will always come
  • Impossible stances will need defense

Exposing yourself always comes with pushback.

I can't change the minds of those already set against me.
But I assert control over my response.

I remain anchored to my values.
I filter the valuable input from the worthless noise.
I refuse to feed toxic energy with mine.

Leadership demands resilience.
The sooner you get it, the sooner you free your potential.
